As the first in my family to attend college, I understand the challenges many students face and the questions they may have. How do I get started? Can I afford it? Do I belong? Like many of you, I began my journey at a community college while balancing work, school and family responsibilities. That experience changed my life and inspired my commitment to helping others succeed through education.
COM is a place of opportunity, support and high expectations. Our faculty and staff are deeply invested in your success. Through expanded tutoring services, personalized enrollment coaching, affordable tuition and the Promise Scholarship, COM is removing barriers and creating pathways for you to move forward with confidence.
For 60 years, COM has proudly served as a hub for Galveston County, connecting students, families and employers with opportunity. As our community continues to grow, COM is responding with new facilities and expanded academic programs designed to meet regional workforce needs.
COM recently introduced its second bachelor’s degree, the Bachelor of Applied Science in Operations Management. This new program offers hands-on experience in project management, logistics and quality control, preparing graduates to advance into leadership roles.
New and enhanced facilities further support this growth. These include the Library and Learning Center, the Public Safety Careers Building and the Corporate Training Center (CTC). Through the CTC, COM is expanding access to technical training, leadership development and safety and compliance courses. Together, these facilities reflect our commitment to preparing learners and strengthening the workforce across the Gulf Coast.
