Emergency Management

From hurricanes to homeland security threats, oil spills to outbreaks, the Texas Gulf Coast experiences a variety of incidents, disasters and hazards. The COM Emergency Management Program develops educated professionals trained to prepare for, respond to, recover from and mitigate potential or actual emergencies.  The Emergency Management Program offers two certificates and an Associate of Applied Science degree. Instructors with years of education and experience teach the COM Emergency Management Program. Courses include live classroom and online learning environments, guest speakers, projects and activities. As part of the program, students will have the opportunity to earn additional credentials from FEMA. Degree students will complete either a practicum or capstone.
